The Aim of this seminar is to encourage creativity and explore the rites of passage; enhance
your professional skills with workshops that develop core abilities in performance, delivery and
choreography. What direction is celebrancy taking in the future? Come with us on a magical
mystery tour that will unlock a host of possibilities – fasten your seatbelt!

YOUR PRESENTERS

Dally Messenger - Keynote Speaker & Presenter, pioneer celebrant of 33 years, author of the invaluable celebrant’s guide Ceremonies and Celebrations and original developer of training in this profession with the International College of Celebrancy.

Remi Barclay Messenger – Presenter, celebrant, trainer, with extensive experience in professional theatre and creative arts therapy. Together with Dally, she has developed curriculum around every aspect of ceremony for civil celebrants.

Dorothy Shorne – Presenter, convenor of the seminar, celebrant, trainer, a keen writer both fiction and non-fiction, a skilled and empathic facilitator. Proprietor of “Bookaholics” an online facility sourcing books for celebrants.

OUTLINE OF THE SEMINAR PROGRAM

DAY ONE - Sunday 30th March 2008
Marina Haven Comfort Inn, 6-10 Adelphi Tce, Glenelg North, SA

8:30 Registration
8:50 am start finishes at 9.00pm– This is a full day of events with parallel sessions offering options for approved OPD including the Compulsory OPD activity, various creative ceremony workshops presented by Dorothy Shorne,
Remi Barclay Messenger and Dally Messenger. Creative sessions include 'Building your Celebrant Business', an introduction to Funerals, 'Best Practice in Ceremonies' and a Creative Writing Workshop.

Following “happy hour” there will be a terrific evening session
"The Celebrant Journey - from here and beyond". Join an interactive session lead by Dally Messenger with the panel to explore the role of celebrancy both now and into the future.

Included: lunch, morning & afternoon tea, “happy hour” drinks and finger food

DAY TWO - Monday 31st March 2008
SA Country Women's Assocation, 30 Dequetteville Tce, Kent Town

8:45 Registration
9.00am start – the day will begin with a workshop on Building your Celebrant Business, followed by Ongoing Professional Development sessions, presented by Remi Barclay-Messenger, Dally Messenger and Dorothy Shorne. This will fulfill your requirements for OPD in 2008. The day includes a lunch-time talk by Dally Messenger, and finishes with a 'Nuts and Bolts' session at which you have the opportunity to raise any questions that you may have.

Included: lunch, morning & afternoon tea.
